IgE responses to schistosome worms require cognate Th2 help. A, Concentrations of SmCB1-specific IgE in the plasma of wild type and MHC II-/- mice were measured by ELISA at 4 weeks post infection. Concentrations of total (B) and SmCB1-specific IgE (C) in the plasma of wild type mice that were treated with a neutralizing anti-IL-4 antibody were quantified by ELISA at 4 weeks post infection. D, Concentrations of SmCB1-specific IgG1 and IgG2b in the plasma of wild type mice were treated with neutralizing anti-IL-4 antibody were quantified by ELISA at 4 weeks post infection. P values were calculated by Dunn's post-test following Kruskal-Wallis test. Experimental groups consisted of five mice per group. Data are representative of two independent experiments.
