Cytokine response in spleen cells from mothers three weeks after delivery. Effect of immunisation of mother with ovalbumin (OVA) combined with either Al(OH)3, pertussis toxin, or CpG on cytokine secretion from spleen cells (at weaning three weeks after birth) incubated without allergen for 72 hours and 6 days or stimulated with OVA for 6 days. Ten mothers per group were included. The concentrations of IL-5 (A, B, C), IL-10 (D, E, F) and IFNγ (G, H, I) are given in pg/ml and the median values are indicated by a line, * denotes a statistically significant difference compared to the OVA group, p < 0.05.
