BJcuL induces neutrophil polarization, an effect inhibited by specific sugars. Isolated human neutrophils (10⁶ cells/ml) were incubated with BJcuL (2.5 ng/ml) for 45 min at 37°C. In some experiments lectin was previously incubated with Gal (2 mM) or GlcNAc (2 mM). fMLP (10^-6 M) was used as positive controls and the RPMI was used as a negative control. Results are shown as MFI (mean ± SD from at least three independent experiments) and p < 0.05, Student's t-test.
