  1. Human PMNs (105 cells/well) were incubated in the presence of 0.2 μM of fMLF and three concentrations of each NPs and chemiluminescence was measured up to 30 min using Berthold Microlumat luminometer. Values are expressed as relative changes from controls (PMNs + fMLF) and were calculated based on the maximal CL increase (PHCL). The presented results are means ± (SEM) of three independent experiments performed at least in triplicate. a-c Significantly different from fMLF-stimulated ROS increase (ap < 0.0005; bp < 0.001; cp < 0.05) as determined by Tuckey’s post hock test.
