In the DNA microarray analysis we identified 2452 differentially expressed genes ( Q < 0.05; PLIER) in peripheral blood T-cells that differed between MS patients and healthy controls. In order to identify which biological processes the differentially expressed genes belonged to we used GO. Two hundred and fifty-six genes were classified as immune-related according to GO [53]. The number of genes in each category is shown in parenthesis. The enrichment score (−log10 (enrichment P-values)) is shown in red for overrepresented gene ontology terms and in blue for the ones underrepresented in MS patients compared with controls. All gene ontology terms that had P-values < 0.05 are shown.
