Dendritic cells (DCs) were incubated with or without platelets (PLTs) for 1 h (A), or pre-incubated for 1 h with an anti-CD162 blocking antibody, mannan, or an irrelevant antibody and then incubated for 1 h with PLTs (B). DCs were then stained for CD162 and CD209 (A) or for CD41 (B) and analyzed by flow cytometry after gating on CD1a+ cells only. The results presented are mean values ± SD of five independent experiments; percentage of marker expression in each experiment was assessed in triplicate.
