Association of the rs2232365 polymorphism with biomarkers of the pathologies: In men with chronic viral liver diseases and advanced fibrosis, the viral load was higher in patients with the allele T (a); the ratio of transaminases (AST/ALT) was higher in men, however, with no differences between alleles (b); the level of GGT fluctuated between genotypes/sexes (c). In men infected with HTLV-1, the proviral load (d), T CD4+ lymphocytes (e) and the level of IL-8 (f) were low in allele T carriers; the level of IL-10 was biased lower in patients with the allele T (g), but without statistical significance.
