Gene expression was normalized to the expression of the housekeeping gene EF1α. Significance was assessed using 1-way ANOVA (Equation.1). None of the tested genes was significant affected by TTA pretreatment. Different letters between the box plots indicate significant difference between the treatments, as determined by Tukey test (p-value ≤ 0.05, n = 4). Mx: myxovirus resistance 1; Cox2: Cyclooxygease 2; Arg1: Arginase 1; PPARg: peroxysome proliferator-activated receptor γ ; TNFa: Tumor necrosis factor α (1+2); IFa1+2: Interferon α (1+2); IL10: Interleukin 10; IL1b: Interleukin 1β* Reliable gene expression could be only measured for samples that received poly IC treatment. Expression for TNFα is displayed relative to the samples that received control pretreatment and TTA + poly(I:C) treatment.
