Untreated aged female mice lacking ERα display androgen phenotype of submandibular glands. Untreated 18-month-old WT, ERKO, BERKO, and DERKO mice were used in the experiment. Aged female mice lacking ERα (ERKO) displayed an increased SMG weight (A), size (C) and androgen phenotype (B).
