Treatment with effector specific membrane permeable cAMP analogues is sufficient to increase TREG suppressive function. TREG cells were treated with either PKA- or EPAC1- specific cyclic-AMP for 30 min. cAMP-treated TREG cells were co-cultured with untreated non-sensitized naive Th cells using artificial Th cell activation (anti-CD3 and anti-CD28) for 72 h.
