Comparison of the presepsin levels between gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. The presepsin levels after 4 h of incubation were significantly higher in gram-negative bacteria (median 273, [IQR, 218–352]) pg/mL) than in gram-positive bacteria (median 200, [IQR,143–275]) pg/mL, p = 0.0002, Wilcoxon rank sum test). The presepsin values in control group was 84.3(73.9–103) pg/mL and significantly lower than both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria (p = 0.0002 and 0.0003, respectively, Wilcoxon rank sum test).
