Calprotectin synthesis and release from neutrophils. Isolated neutrophils (5 × 106/ml) from HC, T2DM, stable HFpEF ± T2DM and ADHFpEF ± T2DM patients were incubated at 37 °C for 3 h with different agonists (PBS control, PMA, LPS and A23187). By ELISA, we quantified calprotectin from unstimulated (T0) and stimulated neutrophils.
